Medical-Surgical Nurse

Location: Pell City, AL

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Contract Duration: 14 weeks

Start Date: September 21, 2026

About the Role

The facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its Medical-Surgical unit. You'll provide comprehensive care to adult patients with a diverse range of medical and surgical conditions, including cardiac, respiratory, and chronic disease management.

Your Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients, responding promptly to changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
• Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound care and pain management
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and interdisciplinary teams on care coordination and discharge planning
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately
• Maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols
• Manage a typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift

Requirements

• Active RN license (state or compact as applicable)
• Minimum 1+ years of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience
• Travel nursing experience required
• BLS certification; ACLS preferred
• CMSRN preferred
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
• Ability to manage diverse patient caseloads with varying acuity levels
