Emergency Department Registered Nurse

Shift & Duration

7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 36 guaranteed hours per week. 13-week contract.

About the Role

The facility's Emergency Department is seeking an experienced RN to deliver rapid, high-quality care in a fast-paced environment. You'll and assess incoming patients, manage acute and emergent conditions, respond to trauma activations and codes, and collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams. The unit handles standard emergency procedures, trauma cases, acute stroke presentations, and chest pain with 24/7 PCI capability.

Key Responsibilities

  • patients and prioritize care based on acuity
  • Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per protocol
  • Respond to codes, trauma activations, and rapid patient deterioration
  • Monitor patients awaiting admission, transfer, or discharge
  • Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and follow-up care
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the medical record
  • Ensure infection control, safety, and de-escalation protocols

Required Qualifications

  • Active Texas RN license (temporary license not accepted)
  • Minimum 2 years emergency department experience
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications
  • NIHSS required

Preferred

  • CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse)
  • Experience with the facility's documentation system

Dress Code

Royal blue scrubs. Clean, healthy nails (no artificial/gel). Hair neat and pulled back if shoulder length or longer. Beards and mustaches neatly trimmed. Body art covered when possible. No visible piercings except ears. Non-absorbent shoes with slip-resistant soles.
