Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Location: Tuscaloosa, AL
Hours: 36 hours per week (guaranteed)
About the Role
The facility's Cardiac Intensive Care Unit is a high-acuity, specialized unit providing complex monitoring and treatment for adult cardiac patients. You'll care for post-catheterization, post-operative, and hemodynamically unstable patients requiring continuous assessment and intervention. Collaboration across the care team is essential to achieving optimal outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced, monitored environment
- Manage complex cardiac cases including post-cath and acute coronary syndrome patients
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and care planning
- Maintain professional competency through ongoing clinical excellence
Requirements
- License: Active RN license (Alabama or compact; no temporary licenses)
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; at least 1 recent year in cardiac or critical care
- Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and Red Cross certification required
- Education: Associate degree in nursing minimum
Preferred Certifications: PALS (if float assignments include pediatric units)
Schedule & Expectations
- Every other weekend required
- Holidays mandatory
- Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals as needed
- Scrub color: Solid navy
This is a patient-facing, clinical position. Parking is available.
