Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Location: Tuscaloosa, AL

Hours: 36 hours per week (guaranteed)

About the Role

The facility's Cardiac Intensive Care Unit is a high-acuity, specialized unit providing complex monitoring and treatment for adult cardiac patients. You'll care for post-catheterization, post-operative, and hemodynamically unstable patients requiring continuous assessment and intervention. Collaboration across the care team is essential to achieving optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced, monitored environment
  • Manage complex cardiac cases including post-cath and acute coronary syndrome patients
  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and care planning
  • Maintain professional competency through ongoing clinical excellence

Requirements

  • License: Active RN license (Alabama or compact; no temporary licenses)
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; at least 1 recent year in cardiac or critical care
  • Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and Red Cross certification required
  • Education: Associate degree in nursing minimum

Preferred Certifications: PALS (if float assignments include pediatric units)

Schedule & Expectations

  • Every other weekend required
  • Holidays mandatory
  • Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals as needed
  • Scrub color: Solid navy

This is a patient-facing, clinical position. Parking is available.
