Location: Wilmington, NC
Shift: Night 3x12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Contract Duration: 13 weeks

About the Role
Join a busy medical-surgical telemetry unit caring for adult and geriatric patients with diverse diagnoses including cardiac, respiratory, infectious, metabolic, and post-surgical conditions. You'll provide direct patient care, manage continuous cardiac monitoring, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs; identify and respond to changes in patient condition
- Administer medications and treatments, including IV insulin protocols and cardiac drips
- Manage central lines, PICCs, peripheral lines, and blood product administration
- Provide pre- and post-operative care, including wound management and drain care
- Support patients on non-invasive airway support (CPAP/BiPAP, high-flow nasal cannula)
- Coordinate care for patients with dementia, diabetes, COPD, sepsis, GI bleed, and COVID-related diagnoses
- Document assessments and interventions accurately
- Float to other units as needed
Requirements
- Active RN license (state or compact)
- Minimum 2 years Med-Surg Telemetry experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- EKG interpretation competency
- Ability to pass EKG testing prior to start
- Comfortable with telemetry remote monitoring and rapid response protocols
Details
- Patient ratio: 5–6 per shift
- Weekend requirement: 12–16 shifts per contract
- Up to 7 days RTO (pre-approved); no additional RTO after contract signing
- 24-hour unit orientation plus hospital orientation week one
- Navy and white scrubs
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
