Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a registered nurse for its Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit. You'll work the night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), providing comprehensive care to adult patients with medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions.
Shift & Schedule
- Night shift: 3 x 12-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- 18-week contract
- Start date: September 11, 2026
Clinical Responsibilities
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs continuously; respond to changes in patient condition
- Administer medications and treatments, including cardiac drips as ordered
- Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound care and pain management
- Coordinate care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory)
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
- Collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and the interdisciplinary team
- Document assessments and interventions accurately in the electronic health record
- Manage 4–6 patients per shift
- Maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols
Requirements
- Active RN license (Ohio or compact state)
- Minimum 18 months of permanent Med-Surg Telemetry experience required
- BLS and ACLS certification (active, in hand)
- Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted
- One professional reference (manager, supervisor, or director) from work within the past 12 months required
