Interventional Radiology Technologist
Location: Savannah, GA
Schedule: 4 × 10-hour shifts, days; includes on-call coverage for emergent cases
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
About the Role
The facility's Interventional Radiology department performs high-acuity, time-sensitive procedures including thrombectomies, atherectomies, permcath placements, port placements, TVAR, TIPS, EVAR, and trauma/stroke interventions. You'll work in a 3-lab angiography suite (2 dedicated IR labs and 1 hybrid OR) as part of a 3–4 person team, providing technical support, equipment operation, and patient monitoring during image-guided procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate fluoroscopy, angiography, and imaging equipment during minimally invasive procedures
- Prepare sterile fields, instruments, and supplies
- Administer contrast media and monitor for adverse reactions
- Track vital signs and hemodynamic status; alert the team to changes
- Ensure radiation safety and ALARA protocol compliance
- Document procedures and supplies accurately
- Assist with post-procedure patient care and site management
- Collaborate with interventional radiologists and the care team
Required Qualifications
- ARRT certification in Radiography (R); Vascular-Interventional (VI) or Cardiovascular-Interventional (CI) certification required or preferred
- State radiologic technology license (as applicable)
- 1+ years of IR experience
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- Ability to respond to on-call emergent cases
