Emergency Department RN
Position Overview
The facility's Emergency Department is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week contract. This is a fast-paced, high-acuity environment managing trauma, STEMI, stroke, and sepsis cases. You'll work the night shift (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) with guaranteed 36 hours per week, rotating alternate weekends.
Key Responsibilities
- and rapidly assess patients across a full spectrum of emergent and urgent conditions
- Manage a patient load of up to 5 (acuity-dependent)
- Respond to trauma activations, codes, and acute deterioration with immediate interventions
- Perform procedures including arterial lines, thoracotomy assistance, and massive transfusion protocols
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per protocols
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team on patient care plans
- Document assessments and interventions accurately in the EMR
- Maintain patient flow in a high-volume setting while ensuring safety and infection control
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (state or compact)
- Minimum 1+ years ER experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, and CPI with TIC certification
- Extensive experience with trauma, STEMI, stroke, and sepsis
- Advanced critical thinking and clinical skills
- Flexible, accountable team player with strong communication
Preferred
- BSN
- CEN certification
- NRP and STABLE certifications
- Adult and pediatric ED experience
Additional Information
- Royal blue scrubs required
- May float to two other freestanding EDs as needed
- Reporting to the facility on August 31, 2026
