Location: Cumming, GA
Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM (10-hour days)
Contract Duration: 110 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 40 weekly
About the Role
The facility's Oncology Center is seeking an experienced RN to provide compassionate, skilled care to patients undergoing cancer treatment. You'll work in a supportive team environment caring for patients receiving chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and biotherapy.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy and antineoplastic agents per physician orders and safety protocols
- Assess patients before, during, and after treatment; monitor for adverse reactions and side effects
- Initiate and manage vascular access (peripheral IVs, PICC lines, implanted ports)
- Manage treatment-related symptoms including nausea, pain, fatigue, and neutropenia
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, side effects, and self-care
- Provide emotional support and collaborate with the oncology team on care plans
- Document assessments and treatments accurately in the medical record
- Follow safe handling protocols for hazardous drugs per OSHA/USP guidelines
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (state or compact)
- Minimum 2 years recent oncology nursing experience
- AHA BLS certification
- NIH Certification
- Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification (ONS) required
- Strong IV access and vascular assessment skills
Preferred
- BSN
- ACLS certification
- OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
Holiday Expectations
Must work 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day) and 1 minor holiday (day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve).
