Medical-Surgical Telemetry – Night Shift Float Pool

Position Overview

Join the facility's Med Surg Tele float pool as a night shift RN. You'll rotate between medical-surgical telemetry units, providing comprehensive care to adult patients with cardiac, medical, and surgical diagnoses. This is an ideal opportunity for experienced nurses seeking variety and flexibility in a structured travel assignment.

Shift Details

• Schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend coverage: 1 shift per week, or 2 shifts every other weekend
• Holiday coverage: At least 1 holiday required during contract
• Flexibility: Block schedule may be requested but is not guaranteed

Clinical Responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care to 4–6 patients per shift, managing mixed acuity
• Perform continuous cardiac monitoring and EKG interpretation; respond to rhythm changes
• Administer medications, including cardiac drips, per physician orders
• Manage pre- and post-operative patient care, wound management, and pain control
• Coordinate interdisciplinary care for patients with cardiac, respiratory, diabetic, and chronic conditions
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
• Ensure infection control and fall prevention protocols

Requirements

• Active RN license (New York) or compact license
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years recent acute medical-surgical/telemetry experience in a hospital setting
• Demonstrated competency in telemetry/EKG interpretation
• ADN or BSN
• Must reside 50+ miles from the facility
