Medical-Surgical Telemetry Float Pool – Rochester, NY

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced RN for its Medical-Surgical Telemetry float pool. You'll work 12-hour night shifts (7 PM–7 AM) with a day rotation option, rotating between multiple med-surg and telemetry units. This is a 16-week contract with 36 hours per week guaranteed.

Schedule & Flexibility

• Night shifts: 7 PM–7 AM / Day rotation: 7 AM–7 PM (rotation-based)
• One weekend shift per week or two weekend shifts every other weekend
• Must work at least one holiday during the contract
• Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed
• You must be willing to float to other units as needed

Clinical Scope

You'll provide comprehensive care to adult patients with medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions. Responsibilities include:

• Continuous cardiac rhythm monitoring and vital sign assessment
• Administration of medications and cardiac drips per physician orders
• Pre- and post-operative care, wound management, and pain control
• Coordination of care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory)
• Patient and family education
• Collaboration with physicians, cardiologists, and the interdisciplinary team on discharge planning
• Typical patient load of 4–6 per shift (varies by acuity)

Requirements

• Active NY RN license (compact license accepted)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• 2 years recent acute med-surg/telemetry experience in a hospital setting
• Demonstrated telemetry and EKG interpretation competency
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
