Medical-Surgical Telemetry Nurse – Float Pool

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN for a 16-week night shift contract. You'll work as part of a float pool, rotating between medical-surgical telemetry units to support patient care across multiple areas.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week (typically 3 shifts)
• 1 weekend shift per week or 2 weekend shifts every other weekend
• At least 1 holiday required during contract
• Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed
• Must be flexible with schedule adjustments based on facility needs

Clinical Scope

You'll provide comprehensive care to adult patients with medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions, including:

• Continuous cardiac rhythm and vital sign monitoring with EKG interpretation
• Medication administration, including cardiac drips
• Pre- and post-operative patient management
• Care coordination for patients with diabetes, cardiac, and respiratory diagnoses
• Typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift
• Discharge planning and patient/family education

Requirements

• Active RN license in New York (or compact license)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years recent acute medical-surgical telemetry experience
• Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency
• Reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Willing to float to other units as needed
