Med/Surg Telemetry Float Pool — Rochester, NY

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced RN for its Med/Surg Telemetry Float Pool. You'll rotate between medical-surgical telemetry units, providing comprehensive care to adult patients with cardiac, medical, and surgical diagnoses.

Shift Details

• Schedule: 12-hour nights (7 PM–7 AM) with optional day rotation (7 AM–7 PM)
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekends: 1 shift per week, or 2 shifts every other weekend
• Contract: 16 weeks
• Start Date: October 27, 2026
• Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed

Your Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to 4–6 patients per shift; manage cardiac monitoring and EKG interpretation
• Administer medications and cardiac drips; manage pre- and post-operative wound care
• Monitor vital signs and respond to changes in patient condition
• Coordinate discharge planning and patient education with the interdisciplinary team
• Maintain infection control and fall prevention standards
• Float to other units as needed based on facility staffing needs

Required Qualifications

• Active NY RN license (or compact license)
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• 2+ years recent acute med/surg or telemetry experience in a hospital setting
• Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy

Additional Requirements

• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Flexibility to work at least 1 holiday during the contract period
• Willingness to float and adjust schedule as needed
