Medical-Surgical Telemetry Nurse — Float Pool

Position Overview

Join the facility's Med Surg Tele float pool as a night shift RN. You'll provide comprehensive care to adult patients across multiple medical-surgical and telemetry units, managing a diverse range of acute conditions, post-operative patients, and cardiac monitoring needs.

Shift & Schedule

  • Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts
  • Hours: 36 hours per week (typically 3 shifts)
  • Weekend commitment: 1 shift per week or 2 shifts every other weekend
  • Holiday requirement: Must work at least 1 holiday during contract
  • Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct patient care including medication administration, wound management, and pain control
  • Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs; respond to changes in patient condition
  • Manage cardiac drips and other medications per physician orders
  • Provide pre- and post-operative care for surgical patients
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary care and discharge planning
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge instructions
  • Maintain accurate EMR documentation
  • Typical patient load: 4–6 patients per shift (varies by acuity)

Requirements

  • Active New York RN license
  • AHA BLS and ACLS certification required
  • 2+ years recent acute med-surg/telemetry experience in a hospital setting
  • Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency
  • BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
  • Flexibility to float between units as needed
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility

  • Duration: 16 weeks
  • Start Date: October 27, 2026
  • Guaranteed hours: 112 hours per contract week
