Medical-Surgical Telemetry Nurse — Float Pool
Position Overview
Join the facility's Med Surg Tele float pool as a night shift RN. You'll provide comprehensive care to adult patients across multiple medical-surgical and telemetry units, managing a diverse range of acute conditions, post-operative patients, and cardiac monitoring needs.
Shift & Schedule
- Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts
- Hours: 36 hours per week (typically 3 shifts)
- Weekend commitment: 1 shift per week or 2 shifts every other weekend
- Holiday requirement: Must work at least 1 holiday during contract
- Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed
Clinical Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care including medication administration, wound management, and pain control
- Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs; respond to changes in patient condition
- Manage cardiac drips and other medications per physician orders
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for surgical patients
- Coordinate interdisciplinary care and discharge planning
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate EMR documentation
- Typical patient load: 4–6 patients per shift (varies by acuity)
Requirements
- Active New York RN license
- AHA BLS and ACLS certification required
- 2+ years recent acute med-surg/telemetry experience in a hospital setting
- Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
- Flexibility to float between units as needed
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility

- Duration: 16 weeks
- Start Date: October 27, 2026
- Guaranteed hours: 112 hours per contract week
