Travel RN – Medical/Surgical (Cardiac Unit) | Aiken, SC

This 13-week travel contract places a skilled Medical/Surgical RN on a cardiac step-down unit, delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across a diverse adult population. Three 12-hour night shifts per week (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM). Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to qualify.

Unit & Clinical Scope

You'll work on a cardiac-focused Med/Surg unit managing adult patients with acute and chronic cardiac, respiratory, and medical-surgical diagnoses. Clinical responsibilities include:

• Initial and ongoing patient assessment with thorough, timely documentation
• Pre- and post-operative care including wound care and pain management
• Medication administration and treatment coordination per physician orders
• Monitoring for changes in condition and escalating care appropriately
• Discharge planning and patient/family education in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Infection control and fall prevention protocol adherence

Schedule & Contract Details

• Shift: 3 × 12-hour nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Guaranteed hours: 36 per week
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Start date: September 14, 2026

Requirements

• Active RN license (SC or applicable compact license)
• BSN preferred; graduate of an accredited RN program required
• Minimum 2 years of RN and Med/Surg experience
• BLS and ACLS required
• NIHSS certification required
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute – NCI with Advanced Physical Skills Training) required
