Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – Registered Nurse

Location: Decatur, GA

Shift: Nights | 3 × 12-hour shifts (36 hrs/week) | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: August 31, 2026

About the Role

You'll deliver nursing care in a progressive care setting, managing moderate-acuity patients who require closer monitoring than med-surg but step down from ICU-level intensity. Your responsibilities include cardiac telemetry monitoring, medication administration (including select IV drips), and assessment of patients transitioning from intensive care or at risk of deterioration.

You'll respond to rapid response and code interventions, collaborate with physicians and the care team, and educate patients and families on condition and recovery. Patient load is typically 3–4 per shift.

Requirements

• Active RN license in state of practice (compact license acceptable)
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• 1+ years of PCU or step-down experience
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and moderate-acuity patient management
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
• PCCN (Progressive Care Certified Nurse) preferred

Schedule & Expectations

• All time off must be scheduled upfront
• You'll know your assignment location before each shift
• Float requirement within specialty across nearby facilities as needed (primary assignment at main location)
• No local travelers; relocation to the area required
