Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical RN for a 13-week contract on the night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM). You'll work three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours total) providing comprehensive care to adult patients with diverse medical and surgical diagnoses.
Schedule & Assignment
- NOC: 3 × 12-hour shifts weekly
- You'll know your assignment location before each shift
- Primary assignment at one facility; may float within specialty to another location as needed within a 15-mile radius
- All time off must be requested upfront
Requirements
- Active RN license (state or compact)
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- CMSRN preferred
- Minimum 1+ years Med-Surg nursing experience
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in patient condition
- Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound care and pain management
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
- Coordinate care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory)
- Manage typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge instructions
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on care planning
- Ensure infection control and fall prevention protocols
