Medical-Surgical Nurse – Night Shift
Location: Decatur, GA
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
Contract: 13 weeks
Start Date: August 31, 2026
About the Role
The facility is seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical nurse to join its team on the night shift. You'll provide direct patient care to adults with a diverse range of medical and surgical conditions, managing a typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in patient condition; escalate care as needed
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
- Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound care and pain management
- Coordinate care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory, and others)
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and interdisciplinary teams on care planning and discharge
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately
- Maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols
Requirements
- Active RN license in Georgia (or current compact license)
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- CMSRN (Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse) preferred
- Minimum 1+ years of Med-Surg nursing experience

- All time off must be requested upfront
- You will float within your specialty as needed; schedule confirmed before each shift
- Relocation required (50-mile radius restriction applies)
