MRI Technologist – 13-Week Contract

Location: Bronx, NY

Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM, Monday–Friday

Hours: 37.5 hours/week

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

About the Role

The facility's diagnostic imaging department is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform magnetic resonance imaging exams in a fast-paced acute care setting. You'll work independently and collaboratively to deliver high-quality diagnostic images while maintaining strict safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform MRI exams per physician orders, selecting appropriate protocols for diagnostic quality
• Screen patients and staff for MRI safety, identifying contraindications (implants, devices, metal, pregnancy)
• Prepare and administer contrast media as ordered, monitoring for adverse reactions
• Position patients accurately and operate MRI equipment to optimize image quality
• Maintain strict adherence to MRI safety zones and protocols
• Document exams and maintain accurate records in imaging systems
• Collaborate with radiologists and referring physicians on imaging findings
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate with service engineers as needed

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI program
• ARRT certification in MRI (ARRT-MR) or ARRT (R) with MRI eligibility
• Current state radiologic technology license (New York)
• BLS certification
• IV certification/venipuncture skills
• 1+ years of MRI experience preferred
