GI Lab Nurse – 13-Week Contract

Location: Atlanta, GA

Shift: 4 × 10-hour day shifts, 40 hours/week

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: August 31, 2026

About the Role

The facility's gastroenterology lab is seeking an experienced RN to provide direct patient care during diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. You'll work in a fast-paced, procedure-focused environment where attention to detail and clinical judgment are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare patients pre-procedure, including education, consent verification, and sedation setup
• Administer and monitor moderate/conscious sedation per physician orders and facility protocol
• Assist physicians during procedures (colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, capsule endoscopy, and similar)
• Monitor vital signs and sedation status continuously; alert the team to any changes
• Manage specimens and equipment during procedures
• Provide post-procedure recovery care and discharge instructions
• Maintain GI lab equipment through cleaning, disinfection, and infection control protocols
• Document assessments, interventions, medications, and patient response accurately
• Collaborate with gastroenterologists, technicians, and the care team

Requirements

• Active RN license (state or compact)
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Minimum 1+ years of GI lab or endoscopy experience
• Demonstrated competency with conscious/moderate sedation administration and monitoring
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
• CGRN (Certified Gastroenterology Registered Nurse) preferred
