Medical-Surgical RN – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical RN for a 13-week contract on the night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM). You'll work three 12-hour shifts per week, providing comprehensive care to adult patients with diverse medical and surgical diagnoses.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in patient condition; escalate care as needed
- Manage pre- and post-operative patients, including wound care and pain management
- Administer medications and treatments; manage epidurals and insulin drips
- Care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory diagnoses)
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and interdisciplinary team on discharge planning
- Document assessments and interventions accurately in the EMR
- Maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols
- Typical patient load: 4–6 patients per shift (varies by acuity)
Requirements
- Active RN license (Georgia or compact license)
- 18 months of Medical-Surgical specialty experience within the past 3 years
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Strong wound care experience
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
- CMSRN certification preferred
Assignment Details
- Location: Atlanta, Georgia (50-mile radius; local candidates only)
- Shift: NOC, three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
- Scrubs: Navy blue
- Start Date: Mondays, beginning September 21, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
