High Risk OB RN — Night Shift | Nashville, TN

13-Week Contract | 36 Hours/Week Guaranteed

This High Risk OB position is based on a dedicated antepartum unit caring for complex maternal patients. The unit manages high-acuity OB cases including antepartum monitoring, vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, bereavement care, and gynecological procedures. Nurses are expected to circulate C-sections, manage magnesium drips, and provide comprehensive maternal-fetal assessment.

Shift & Schedule

  • Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • 3 weekend shifts per scheduling period
  • Float potential to OB emergency department, mother-baby, and labor & delivery units

Required Certifications

  • BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of OB/GYN nursing experience
  • High-risk antepartum experience strongly preferred
  • Labor & delivery and C-section circulating experience required
  • Magnesium drip administration experience required
  • Gynecological surgical care experience (pre- and post-op)

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Maternal and fetal status assessment with complication monitoring (preeclampsia, hemorrhage, infection)
  • Postpartum care, newborn education, and breastfeeding support
  • Pre- and post-operative care for gynecological surgical patients
  • Patient and family education, discharge planning, and sensitive reproductive health support
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration with OB/GYN physicians, midwives, and care team

Additional Details

  • Dress code: Navy blue, seal blue, or grey scrubs
  • License: Active RN license required (compact accepted)
  • BSN preferred; ADN considered per facility policy
  • Start Date: August 31, 2026
