Interventional Radiology Technologist
Location: Syracuse, NY
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Days, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM or 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (5×8s or 4×10s)
Call Requirements: Rotating on-call; call coverage for weekends and holidays
About the Role
The facility's Neuro Interventional Radiology suite is seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist to assist physicians and interventional radiologists during minimally invasive, image-guided procedures. You'll operate fluoroscopic and angiography equipment, scrub in to support specialized cases, and ensure smooth, efficient procedure flow in a dynamic clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist during neuro endovascular angiography, vascular angiography, and other interventional procedures
- Operate fluoroscopy and imaging equipment with precision and safety
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields, instruments, and supplies
- Administer contrast media and monitor patients for adverse reactions
- Monitor vital signs and hemodynamic status; alert the team to changes
- Ensure radiation safety protocols and ALARA principles are followed
- Document procedures, supplies, and patient data accurately
- Provide post-procedure patient support and site monitoring
- Collaborate with interventional radiologists and the care team
Required Qualifications
- ARRT certification in Radiography (R); Vascular-Interventional (VI) or Cardiovascular-Interventional (CI) certification required or preferred per facility
- State radiologic technology license
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of interventional radiology experience
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
Preferred
- Knowledge of neuro interventional procedures
