About the Role
The facility's cardiac catheterization lab seeks an experienced RN to provide direct patient care and monitoring during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. You'll work alongside cardiologists and cath lab technicians in a fast-paced, procedure-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor patient vital signs and hemodynamic status throughout cardiac catheterization, angiography, PCI/stent placement, and device implant procedures
- Administer medications, sedation, and contrast media per physician orders and protocol
- Prepare and educate patients pre-procedure; provide post-procedure recovery care and discharge instructions
- Manage vascular access sites, including sheath removal and hemostasis
- Assist physicians in circulating and monitoring roles during procedures
- Respond promptly to emergent complications (arrhythmias, hemorrhage, vasovagal reactions)
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team on patient care plans
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (state or compact)
- BLS and ACLS certification
- 1+ years of cath lab experience
- Ability to respond to on-call emergent cases
Preferred
- BSN
- RCIS certification
