About the Role
You'll provide skilled nursing care to moderate-acuity patients in a progressive care setting—patients who require closer monitoring than med-surg but not ICU-level intensity. This role is ideal for nurses who thrive in cardiac and hemodynamically complex cases.
Clinical Focus
Expect to care for patients with conditions including congestive heart failure, dysrhythmias, cardiogenic shock, coronary artery disease, and post-cardiac procedures (angioplasty, heart transplant, LVADs). You'll manage vasoactive drips (Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Cardizem, Milrinone), insulin drips, and peritoneal dialysis support. Continuous telemetry monitoring and rapid-response readiness are core to the role.

- Active RN license (Georgia or compact state license required)
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- 18+ months of PCU/step-down specialty experience within the past 3 years
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted
- PCCN certification preferred
- Rhythm identification test required upon start (proctored; two attempts allowed)
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a moderate patient load (typically 3–4 patients)
- Continuously assess cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and signs of deterioration
- Administer medications and IV therapies per orders
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
- Respond to code and rapid-response activations
- Educate patients and families on condition and recovery
