ICU Nurse – 16-Week Contract
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced ICU Nurse to join its intensive care unit. You'll provide direct care to critically ill patients requiring continuous monitoring and advanced life support interventions.
Schedule & Duration
- 12-hour day shifts: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 36 guaranteed weekly hours
- 16-week contract
- Holiday requirements: Must work 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) and 1 minor holiday (Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve)
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (state or compact)
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU/critical care experience
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- Experience with ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring, arterial/central lines, and titratable vasoactive drips
Preferred
- BSN degree
- CCRN certification
- NIHSS certification
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor critically ill patients; respond rapidly to condition changes
- Manage advanced life support equipment and administer vasoactive and sedation medications
- Collaborate with intensivists and interdisciplinary teams on care planning
- Perform code interventions and rapid response as needed
- Educate patients and families on treatment and care needs
- Maintain accurate EMR documentation
- Uphold infection control and safety protocols
