Medical-Surgical Nurse – General Surgery & ENT

Location: Atlanta, GA

Schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)

Contract Duration: 14 weeks

Start Date: August 31, 2026

About the Role

The facility is seeking a skilled surgical nurse to support its general surgery, bariatric surgery, and ENT services. You'll provide comprehensive care to adult patients across a range of medical and surgical conditions, with particular focus on ENT patients, including those with tracheostomies and laryngectomies.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in patient condition
• Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound management and pain control
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
• Coordinate care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory diagnoses)
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and interdisciplinary teams on care planning
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record
• Follow infection control and fall prevention protocols
• Manage a typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (state or compact)
• BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
• Minimum 1+ years of medical-surgical nursing experience
• Ability to manage diverse patient populations with varying acuity levels

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN
• CMSRN certification
