Medical-Surgical Telemetry Nurse — Pulmonary Unit
Location: Tuscaloosa, AL
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Schedule: Every other weekend; holidays as required
About the Role
Join the facility's pulmonary telemetry unit as a Medical-Surgical Nurse. You'll deliver specialized care to patients with a wide range of respiratory disorders, from acute exacerbations to post-procedural recovery. This unit emphasizes collaborative, high-quality nursing in a supportive team environment.
Clinical Environment
The pulmonary unit manages patients requiring close monitoring and respiratory expertise. You'll work alongside respiratory therapy, physical therapy, care management, and pharmacy to provide coordinated care. A strong foundation in general medical-surgical nursing combined with respiratory assessment and intervention skills is essential.
Requirements
- Current RN license (Alabama state or compact; no temporary licenses)
- AHA BLS certification
- Associate degree in nursing (minimum)
- 18 months of clinical experience; must include 1 year in a respiratory or specialty setting (2 years preferred)
- Willingness to float to other units and hospitals as needed
Schedule & Expectations
- 36 or 48 hours per week (flexible)
- Every other weekend rotation
- Holiday coverage as required
- Solid navy scrubs
- Parking available
