About the Unit

The facility's NICU provides intensive care for critically ill and premature neonates. The unit manages high-acuity patients including those on mechanical ventilation, CPAP support, and umbilical line management. You'll work alongside a stable, experienced team: night shift core staffing includes 2 NICU RNs and 1 Neonatal Nurse Practitioner on site 24/7, with neonatologists available on call.

What You'll Do

  • Provide direct care to critically ill and premature infants requiring continuous monitoring and life support
  • Manage advanced equipment including ventilators, CPAP, umbilical lines, and warmers
  • Assess neonatal condition, escalate changes, and respond to rapid-response situations
  • Administer medications and titratable drips with precision neonatal dosing
  • Support thermoregulation, feeding, and developmental care
  • Assist with procedures including umbilical line placement, intubation, lumbar punctures, and circumcisions
  • Collaborate with neonatologists, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team
  • Educate and support families, including kangaroo care education
  • Maintain accurate EMR documentation and infection control standards

Requirements

  • Active RN license (or compact license as applicable)
  • BLS and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Level 2 certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of current NICU acute care experience
  • Experience with high-risk neonates and ventilator management
  • Infant resuscitation experience required
  • BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy

Preferred: Level 3 or 4 NICU experience, RNC-NIC certification, experience with Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome care, or delivery room admissions/stabilization experience.
