NICU Registered Nurse | Asheville, NC | Night Shift

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (18:45–07:15)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Guaranteed Hours: 36/week

About the Unit

This Level III NICU provides intensive care for critically ill, premature, and high-risk neonates requiring continuous monitoring and advanced life support. The unit operates at variable patient ratios based on acuity and manages a broad range of complex neonatal conditions in collaboration with neonatologists and a full interdisciplinary team.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to premature and critically ill neonates
• Manage ventilator support, CPAP, umbilical lines, isolettes, and warmers
• Administer medications and titratable drips with precise neonatal dosing
• Support thermoregulation, feeding protocols, and developmental care
• Perform and assist with rapid response and resuscitation interventions
• Educate and support families, including kangaroo care guidance
• Collaborate with neonatologists and the interdisciplinary care team

Requirements

• Active RN license (state or compact)
• BSN preferred; ADN considered per facility policy
• Minimum 2 years of Level III or higher NICU experience required
• BLS and NRP certification required
• STABLE and RNC-NIC certification preferred
• Experience with high-risk neonates, vent management, and isolette/warmer care

Additional Details

• Float Areas: Pediatrics, PICU, and Mother-Baby (newborns only)
• Weekends: Every other weekend required
• Scrubs: Navy blue
