NICU Registered Nurse
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced NICU Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract. You'll join a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit providing comprehensive care to critically ill and premature infants requiring intensive monitoring and advanced life support.
Shift & Schedule
- 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (night shift)
- Every other weekend
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to high-risk neonates, managing patients on ventilators, CPAP, umbilical lines, and other advanced equipment
- Assess and respond to changes in neonatal condition; escalate care as needed
- Administer medications and titratable drips with precise neonatal dosing
- Support thermoregulation, feeding, and developmental care
- Perform rapid response and resuscitation interventions
- Collaborate with neonatologists and the interdisciplinary team on plan of care
- Educate families on infant condition, treatment, and care (including kangaroo care)
- Document assessments and interventions accurately in the EMR
- Maintain infection control and safety protocols for immunocompromised patients
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (or compact license as applicable)
- BLS and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- Minimum 1+ year NICU experience
- Experience with high-risk neonates, ventilator management, and isolette/warmer care
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN (ADN accepted per facility policy)
- RNC-NIC certification
- 2+ years NICU experience
- Detail-oriented, organized personality

Candidates may float to Pediatrics, PICU, or Mother Baby (neonatal care only).
