Cath Lab Technologist
Bakersfield, CA | 13-Week Contract | Day Shift (7 AM–7 PM)
About the Role
The facility's cath lab is a high-volume cardiac intervention center performing 10–22 cases daily across five suites. You'll work as part of a skilled team delivering diagnostic angiograms, coronary interventions (PCI/stent), peripheral and vascular procedures, electrophysiology cases, and neuro interventions. This is a STEMI-receiving facility with a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
What You'll Do
- Scrub and/or monitor hemodynamics during cardiac catheterization procedures
- Operate fluoroscopy and hemodynamic monitoring equipment
- Prepare sterile fields, instruments, and supplies
- Administer contrast and medications per protocol
- Monitor vital signs and alert the team to hemodynamic changes
- Manage patient airway, conscious sedation support, and cardiac drips (Integrilin, dopamine, vasopressors, balloon pumps)
- Ensure radiation safety compliance
- Document procedures and patient data accurately
- Assist with post-procedure care, including sheath removal and site management
Requirements
- ARRT certification with Fluoroscopy endorsement (RCIS/CCT not accepted)
- BLS certification
- Current state radiologic technology license
- Minimum 1+ years cath lab experience required
- Comfortable with conscious and moderate sedation, procedural processes, and airway management
Schedule & On-Call
- 10- or 12-hour shifts; flexible scheduling available
- Open to block scheduling Friday–Sunday
- Call rotation: 1× per week (inpatient/emergent cases)
- Weekend call: 1 weekend per month (Friday evening–Monday AM)
- Guaranteed 36 hours per week

Contract Details
- 91 weeks
- Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week period (or pay in lieu)
