Labor & Delivery RN — Nights
Location: Rockwall, TX
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts
Duration: 17 weeks
Start Date: September 14, 2026
About the Role
The facility is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for its obstetric unit. You will provide direct nursing care to laboring patients, monitoring maternal and fetal status throughout labor and delivery. This role includes managing high-risk OB conditions, assisting with vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections, and supporting immediate newborn resuscitation as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate patterns and uterine contractions; escalate concerns promptly
- Administer labor induction/augmentation agents and provide epidural support per physician orders
- Manage high-risk obstetric emergencies including preeclampsia, hemorrhage, and fetal distress
- Assist physicians and midwives during delivery; provide circulating support for C-sections
- Deliver immediate newborn care and resuscitation support
- Educate patients and families on labor progress and pain management options
- Collaborate with OB, anesthesia, and NICU teams on plan of care
- Document labor progress and interventions accurately
Requirements
- Active RN license (state or compact)
- 1+ years current L&D experience
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP certification required
- Fetal Monitoring certification required
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
- Must be within 100 miles of the facility and possess a valid driver's license
- Weekends and holidays as scheduled
