Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN – Night Shift
Location: Atlanta, GA
Shift & Schedule:
Night shift, 12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
3 shifts per week | 36 guaranteed hours weekly
16-week contract
About the Role:
Join the facility's admission unit, a fast-paced med-surg telemetry environment where you'll care for general medical patients, pre- and post-operative surgical patients, and those awaiting surgery. This is a rapid-turnover unit, so you'll manage patients with diverse diagnoses—cardiac, respiratory, diabetes, and general post-operative cases. Clear communication and independent decision-making are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs continuously; respond quickly to rhythm changes
- Administer medications and cardiac drips per physician orders
- Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound care and pain management
- Collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and the care team on discharge planning
- Educate patients and families on treatments, medications, and discharge instructions
- Ensure infection control and fall prevention protocols
- Document assessments and interventions accurately in the EMR
- Typical patient load: 5–6 patients per shift
Requirements:
- Active RN license (state or compact)
- Minimum 1+ years of med-surg telemetry experience
- BLS and ACLS certification (required)
- Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
