Location: Atlanta, GA

Shift: Day (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM), 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week

Contract Duration: 16 weeks

Position Overview

The facility seeks an experienced Med/Surg Telemetry RN for a fast-paced admission unit. You'll care for general medical and surgical patients, including pre- and post-operative cases. This is a rapid-turnover unit where strong communication, clinical judgment, and independence are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs continuously; identify and respond to changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments, including cardiac drips as ordered
• Manage pre- and post-operative care: wound care, pain management, and discharge preparation
• Coordinate care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory)
• Collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and the interdisciplinary team
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record
• Typical patient load: 5–6 patients per shift
• Follow infection control and fall prevention protocols

Requirements

• Active RN license (or compact license as applicable)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1+ years Med/Surg Telemetry experience
• Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
• Reliable work history with no gaps greater than 60 days
• References and professional certifications must be current

This role demands clear communication and the ability to work independently in a high-volume setting.
