Registered Nurse – PACU

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). You'll provide direct patient care during the immediate post-operative period, monitoring and managing patients as they recover from anesthesia and surgery.

Shift & Schedule

• 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, three 8-hour shifts per week
• Weekend call: one day (Saturday or Sunday) every 4½ weeks
• Night call: 4–5 shifts per 6-week schedule
• 8-week contract
• Guaranteed 24 hours per week

Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• BLS/CPR certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience preferred
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and prioritization skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and make independent clinical decisions
• Comfortable with frequent patient handling

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate post-operative patient care
• Monitor vital signs and post-anesthesia recovery
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Provide patient and family education
• Document care thoroughly and accurately
• Communicate changes in patient status to physicians
• Supervise and delegate tasks to support staff
• Maintain safe, clean work environment
