Progressive Care Unit (PCU) — Travel RN | Atlanta, GA
Night Shift | 13-Week Contract
This high-acuity, cardiac-focused PCU assignment is ideal for experienced travel nurses with a strong cardiac background. The unit manages a complex patient population and carries significant procedural volume, requiring confident, independent clinical judgment.
Schedule & Contract Details
- Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 3×12-hour shifts | 36 hours/week
- Contract length: 13 weeks | Start: October 19, 2026
- Scrubs: Navy blue
- No local travelers (50-mile radius restriction applies)
Patient Population
Heart failure, A-fib, atrial flutter, SVT, V-tach, V-fib, STEMI/NSTEMI, chest pain, hypertension, fluid volume overload, congenital heart disease, heart transplant, and LVAD patients.
Common Procedures
Right and left heart catheterizations, sheath removal and TR band management, stent placement, valve replacement, cardioversions, ablations, pacemaker and ICD management, groin site care, and chest tube management.
Required Cardiac Drip Experience
Insulin, milrinone, dobutamine, amiodarone, heparin, Lasix, and nitroglycerin.
Requirements
- Minimum 18 months of recent cardiac PCU experience
- Independent telemetry interpretation; must pass a proctored dysrhythmia exam (calipers required, first-attempt pass only)
- BLS and ACLS required; PCCN preferred
- Chest tube experience required
- LVAD and heart transplant experience preferred (training available)
- Active RN license (state or compact)
Floating
May float to similar cardiac/PCU units; will not be assigned to cardiac monitor tech roles.
