Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN – Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a registered nurse for its Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit. You'll provide direct patient care on the night shift, managing adult patients with medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions requiring continuous monitoring.

Shift & Schedule

• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Three 12-hour shifts per week
• Schedule options: Friday/Saturday/Sunday or Saturday/Sunday/Monday
• 13-week contract

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs continuously; respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, including cardiac drips as applicable
• Provide pre- and post-operative care including wound management and pain control
• Manage patients with chronic and acute conditions (cardiac, respiratory, diabetes, etc.)
• Collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, and the interdisciplinary team on care planning and discharge coordination
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment, medications, and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record
• Ensure infection control and fall prevention protocols are followed
• Typical patient load: 4–6 patients per shift

Requirements

• Active RN license (Ohio or compact state)
• Minimum 18 months permanent Med-Surg Telemetry experience
• BLS and ACLS certification (active and current)
• Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency
• One professional reference from a manager, supervisor, or director (from past 12 months)
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted
