Labor & Delivery RN

Location: Dickson, TN

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Contract: 13 weeks | 36 guaranteed hours/week

Schedule: 3 shifts per week, rotating weekends and holidays

About the Role

Join a busy labor and delivery unit providing comprehensive maternal and neonatal care. You'll manage laboring patients from admission through delivery and immediate postpartum recovery, while also providing initial newborn assessment and stabilization.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 care for active labors, inductions, and cesarean sections
• Monitor maternal and fetal status; assess and interpret fetal heart rate patterns
• Administer labor induction/augmentation medications (Pitocin, Cervidil) per physician orders
• Manage high-risk OB emergencies including shoulder dystocia and postpartum hemorrhage
• Assist with vaginal, vacuum/forceps-assisted, and cesarean deliveries
• Provide immediate newborn care and resuscitation support
• Support couplet care (mother-baby pairs) during postpartum recovery
• Collaborate with OB physicians, midwives, anesthesia, and NICU team
• Educate patients and families on labor progression and pain management

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (or compact license)
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certification required
• 1+ years of L&D experience
• Fetal monitoring education and experience with labor inductions required
• Experience managing high-risk OB conditions and emergency situations preferred
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted

Pink and/or brown scrubs required. Float pool assignment as needed.
