Labor & Delivery RN – 13-Week Assignment

Location: Dickson, TN

Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Schedule: Full-time, 3 shifts per week with rotating weekends and holidays

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

About the Role

You'll join a Women's Services unit providing comprehensive labor, delivery, postpartum, and neonatal care. This is an excellent opportunity to expand your skills across the full perinatal spectrum in a supportive team environment.

Unit Overview

The unit includes 9 LDRP beds, obstetric beds, an OR suite, and 4 NICU beds. You'll care for:

• Active labors and inductions (1:1 ratio)
• Cesarean sections and operative vaginal deliveries
• Postpartum couplet care (1:3 ratio)
• Neonates including intermediate NICU care (1:3 ratio with 2 nurses minimum)

Clinical Scope

Common procedures include cesarean delivery, vacuum/forceps-assisted delivery, circumcision, and intrauterine monitoring. You'll manage labor management, fetal monitoring, induction protocols, and obstetric emergency response including shoulder dystocia and postpartum hemorrhage management.

Requirements

• Current RN license
• BLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring certification
• Minimum 2 years labor & delivery experience
• Ability to labor, recover, and assess both mother and newborn
• Competency in emergency OB situations preferred

A highly experienced team: 6 seasoned RNs with ~30 years experience each, plus additional nurses with 7–10 years tenure. This unit functions as a collaborative team and actively mentors newer staff.

Uniform: Pink and/or brown scrubs required per infant security protocol.
