Location: Bakersfield, CA
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 4 x 10-hour days (day shift, every other weekend, first to float)
Start Date: August 26, 2026
About the Role
Join the catheterization laboratory team at the facility, supporting a high-volume interventional program. You'll work across five suites handling 10–22 cases daily, including coronary interventions, peripheral and vascular cases, electrophysiology procedures, and neuro interventions. This is a STEMI-receiving facility with a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Your Responsibilities
- Scrub, monitor hemodynamics, or circulate as assigned during diagnostic angiograms, PCI/stent placements, device implants, and peripheral interventions
- Operate imaging and hemodynamic monitoring equipment
- Prepare sterile fields, instruments, and supplies
- Monitor vital signs and alert the team to hemodynamic changes
- Manage conscious and moderate sedation support, cardiac drips (Integrilin, dopamine, vasopressors), and balloon pumps
- Ensure radiation safety protocols
- Assist with post-procedure care, including sheath removal
- Document procedures accurately
Required Qualifications
- ARRT certification with Fluoroscopy endorsement (RCIS/CCT not accepted)
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum 1+ year current cath lab experience
- Comfort with conscious and moderate sedation, procedural airway management, and cardiac medications
- Valid state RT license
Scheduling & On-Call
- Rotate call 1x/week for inpatient and emergent cases
- 1 weekend per month (Friday evening through Monday morning)
- Block scheduling available Friday–Sunday
- Flexible: willing to work 10s or 12s
Notes
First-time travelers welcome. The facility provides radiation badge. 40 guaranteed hours per week. Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.
