Respiratory Therapist – Night Shift
Location: Baltimore, MD
Shift: Night, 3×12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Contract Duration: 14 weeks
Start Date: ASAP (on or after September 29, 2026)
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist to join the critical care and emergency department teams on a night rotation. You'll provide direct patient care, manage mechanical ventilation, and respond to acute respiratory needs in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- RRT with 5+ years experience or CRT with 5+ years experience (first-time travelers considered with strong critical care/ED background)
- ACLS and BLS certification required
- Valid Maryland or Compact license required at time of application
- Adult critical care and/or ED experience mandatory
- 2+ years documented experience
Key Responsibilities
- Mechanical ventilation management and weaning
- Airway care, intubation assist, and extubation support
- ABG interpretation and pulmonary hygiene
- Tracheostomy care and troubleshooting ventilator alarms
- Collaboration with respiratory services and rapid response teams
- Potential float within facility scope; may float to affiliated facility as needed
What to Know
- Weekend coverage required
- Pre-approved time off available (2 weeks)
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
- COVID-19 vaccine not required
- Mandatory onboarding modules (8 hours, completed virtually on first day)
- Maximum assignment length: 365 days; 6-month separation required before returning
