Emergency Department Nurse

Position Overview

The facility's Emergency Department is seeking an experienced RN to join a fast-paced, high-acuity team. You'll provide rapid assessment and comprehensive nursing care to patients presenting with emergent and urgent conditions, from through disposition.

Schedule & Requirements

• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (nights)
• Hours: 3 days per week, 12-hour shifts
• Weekend Requirement: 6 days per 6-week cycle
• Full-time contract position

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in Texas (or compact license)
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification (AHA) required
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) required
• 1+ years of ER nursing experience
• Proficiency with protocols and high-acuity environments
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy

Preferred: CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse)

Key Responsibilities

• Perform rapid patient assessment and ; prioritize care based on acuity
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per protocols
• Respond to trauma activations, codes, and acute deterioration
• Manage patient flow and throughput in a high-volume setting
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on plan of care
• Document assessments and interventions accurately
• Provide patient and family education on discharge and follow-up care
• Maintain infection control and safety standards; de-escalate as needed

Onboarding

All new hires complete orientation with a designated preceptor within 30 days, including facility and department-specific competency validation.
