Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN – Night Shift

Location: Akron, OH

Shift: Night (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 3 × 12-hour shifts per week

Contract: 18 weeks

Start Date: September 11, 2026

About the Role

The facility is seeking an experienced Med-Surg Telemetry RN to join the night shift. You'll provide comprehensive care to adult patients with medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions, with a strong emphasis on cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs continuously; identify and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments, including cardiac drips as ordered
• Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound management and pain control
• Coordinate care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory diagnoses)
• Collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and the interdisciplinary team on care planning and discharge
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the electronic health record
• Maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols
• Typical patient load: 4–6 patients per shift (varies by acuity)

Requirements

• Active RN license (Ohio or compact state license in hand at submission)
• Minimum 18 months permanent Med-Surg Telemetry experience
• BLS and ACLS certification (active and current)
• EKG/telemetry interpretation competency
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted
• One professional reference (manager, ANM, supervisor, or director from past 12 months) required
