CT Technologist – 12-Hour Night Shift
Location: Redding, CA
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Start Date: September 14, 2026
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, every other weekend, first to float
About the Role
The facility's diagnostic radiology department is seeking an experienced CT technologist to join the night shift team. You'll perform high-quality CT imaging across the operating room, emergency department, and inpatient/outpatient settings in a fast-paced environment. This role requires you to be a self-starter ready to hit the ground running with minimal orientation (1–2 shifts).
Key Responsibilities
- Perform CT exams per physician orders with accurate positioning and image quality
- Prepare and administer contrast media; monitor patients for adverse reactions
- Review patient history and screen for contraindications
- Operate and maintain CT equipment; troubleshoot technical issues
- Follow radiation safety protocols and ALARA principles
- Document exams and maintain records in the facility's system
- Collaborate with radiologists and referring physicians
- Assist with C-arm imaging in the OR as needed
Requirements
- ARRT certification in Radiography (R) and CT (ARRT-CT) required
- State radiologic technology license (as applicable)
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of CT experience required (may consider first-time travelers with strong credentials)
- IV certification/venipuncture skills preferred
- Level II Trauma experience preferred but not required
- Comfort in high-acuity, high-volume settings
Details
- Guaranteed 36 hours per week
- Teal scrubs (facility-provided in OR)
- Radiologist in-house until 6 PM; on-call thereafter
- Well-staffed day shift; night shift operates with fewer resources
- Weekend and holiday work expected
- Call schedule varies; details provided at interview
