TRAVEL RN – MEDICAL-SURGICAL NURSING

Location: Thornton, CO

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Contract: 13 weeks | 36 guaranteed hours per week

Unit: Medical-Surgical-Orthopedic

About the Role

Join a high-energy med-surg unit managing adult patients across a diverse range of medical and surgical diagnoses. You'll care for post-operative surgical patients, manage cardiac drips (amiodarone, diltiazem, heparin), and coordinate care for patients with chronic and acute conditions including cardiac, respiratory, and metabolic disorders.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care with a 5:1 ratio
• Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in patient condition
• Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound care and pain management
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team on plan of care and discharge planning
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
• Document assessments and interventions accurately in the EMR
• Follow infection control and fall prevention protocols

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (or compact license as applicable)
• Minimum 1 year of acute care Med-Surg experience
• BLS certification
• ADN or BSN

Preferred

• ACLS certification
• CMSRN certification
• Prior EMR experience
