Labor & Delivery RN – 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 36 guaranteed hours per week
About the Unit
The facility's Labor & Delivery unit provides comprehensive perinatal care, including antepartum, labor, delivery, and postpartum services. You'll care for patients across the full spectrum of obstetrics—from routine pregnancies to high-risk conditions such as preeclampsia, preterm labor on magnesium sulfate, and PPROM. The unit manages vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and inductions in a supportive, collaborative environment.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct care to laboring patients with individualized monitoring of maternal and fetal status
- Interpret fetal heart rate patterns and uterine activity; escalate concerns appropriately
- Administer labor medications, including induction/augmentation agents and epidural support
- Circulate for cesarean sections and assist with vaginal deliveries
- Manage high-risk obstetric emergencies with swift clinical judgment
- Support immediate newborn resuscitation and care
- Collaborate with OB physicians, midwives, anesthesia, and NICU team
- Educate families on labor progress, pain management, and postpartum recovery
Requirements
- Active RN license (state or compact)
- Minimum 1 year current acute care L&D experience
- BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Fetal Monitoring (EFM-C) or equivalent certification required
- High-risk OB and circulating C-section experience preferred
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
