Asheville, NC | Night Shift | 13-Week Contract

A pediatric critical care unit in Asheville, NC is seeking an experienced Travel RN for a 13-week assignment in the PICU.

Shift & Schedule

Night shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
36 guaranteed hours per week
Must work 3 weekends per 6-week scheduling period

Unit Overview

This unit cares for high-acuity pediatric patients in a combined PICU/Stepdown setting. Nurses float to Pediatrics and NICU as needed. A Health Unit Coordinator is available 9 AM–9 PM, with a shared tech supporting the unit.

Clinical Scope & Procedures

IV starts, urinary catheterization, central line dressing changes
Hemodynamic monitoring, ICP monitoring
Ventilator management, trach care
Tube feeding and nasogastric tube placement
Assisting with lumbar punctures

Patient Ratios

PICU: 1:1–2
Stepdown: 1:2–3

Required Qualifications

Active RN license
Minimum 1 year of PICU experience
BLS (AHA)
PALS (AHA) — required

Dress Code

All navy, all white, or navy pants with white top

This is an excellent opportunity for a pediatric critical care nurse comfortable managing complex, ventilator-dependent patients in a fast-paced inpatient setting.
