Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) — Travel RN

Asheville, NC | Nights | 13-Week Contract

This travel nursing opportunity is in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit that also provides stepdown-level care. The unit manages high-acuity pediatric patients requiring close monitoring and advanced clinical intervention.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Must work 3 weekends per 6-week schedule

Clinical Scope

The PICU team provides care for critically ill pediatric patients. Procedures and responsibilities include:

• IV starts and catheterizations
• Central line dressing changes
• Lumbar puncture assistance/holding
• Hemodynamic and ICP monitoring
• Ventilator management
• Trach care
• Tube feeding and tube placement

Nurses may also float to Pediatrics and the NICU.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of PICU experience required
• Active RN license
• PALS certification (required)
• BLS (American Heart Association)
• At least 2 years of nursing experience preferred

Dress Code

All navy, all white, or navy pants with white tops.
