Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility seeks an experienced Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN for night shifts. You will provide comprehensive care to adult patients with medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions on a monitored unit.
Shift & Schedule
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
- 18-week contract
- Start date: September 11, 2026
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs continuously; respond to rhythm changes and acute condition changes
- Administer medications and treatments, including cardiac drips as ordered
- Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound care and pain management
- Coordinate care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory)
- Collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and interdisciplinary teams on care plans and discharge planning
- Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic health record
- Manage a typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift
- Maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols
Requirements
- Active RN license (Ohio state or compact license required at time of contract start)
- Minimum 18 months of permanent medical-surgical telemetry experience
- BLS and ACLS certification (active and in hand at submission)
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted
- Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency
- One professional reference (manager, ANM, supervisor, or director) from the past 12 months
Compliance Notes
- COVID-19 and flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Background check and drug screening required
- ECG rhythm recognition and medication safety assessments completed during orientation (two attempts to pass)
