Medical/Surgical Telemetry RN – Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced Medical/Surgical Telemetry RN for a night shift position. You will provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a wide range of medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions on a monitored unit.

Shift & Contract Details

• Schedule: Night shift, 3 × 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Contract Duration: 18 weeks
• Start Date: September 11, 2026

Key Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs, identifying and responding to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, including cardiac drips as applicable
• Manage pre- and post-operative care for surgical patients, including wound care and pain management
• Coordinate care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory diagnoses)
• Educate patients and families on condition, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
• Collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and the interdisciplinary team on care planning and discharge
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately
• Manage a typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift
• Ensure infection control and fall prevention protocols are followed

Requirements

• Active RN license in Ohio or compact license in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 18 months of permanent Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
• BLS and ACLS certification (active, in hand)
• Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency required
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
